Our Coffee Program

With a focus on staying local and minimizing packaging waste, we’re proud to offer our coffee subscription service— delivered to your door by our friends at Cascadian Courier Collective in reusable jar packaging. Much like classic milk deliveries, simply place your empty jars on your porch for the couriers to pick up and replace with your next Jar of Coffee!

Beyond our neighborhoods and into the tropics is the next stage of sustainability. We’re working with green coffee importers Shared Source who have done much of the hard work already, making it easy for us to provide great tasting coffee that is ethically sourced and produced.

Our ultimate goal is to work with coffee farmers, not only to buy coffee

directly from them, but also to share farming practices, techniques and ideas with each other. Many coffee farmers are also producing fruits and vegetables for their friends, families, and communities. With this is mind there is a lot in common between our farm and theirs. Working together, we hope to make a more resilient and sustainable farming community worldwide.

Our Farming Practices

Coming from the kitchen, our first focus is on flavor, and you can’t have good flavor without good soil. Soil is not one thing but an ecosystem, easily disrupted but ultimately resilient. Many modern farming techniques have been developed with the ease of production and reduction of human labor in mind, with little thought given to bugs, microbes, or flavor. Anyone who has spent time working on a farm or garden quickly understands why such innovations have occurred, but we think it’s the right time to take a step back and look at these old problems with new eyes. While we’re not certified organic, we’re committed to using no pesticides or herbicides. We are not the first farmers on this path, and we look to many in regenerative agriculture for guidance.

Beyond the farm is your home garden, the perfect place for perishable and delicate crops, and those that you want on hand for every meal! As we continue to develop our own skills and systems, we will make them available to our community at large.
